First-Year Courses

Academic Foundations is a one-credit course exclusively for incoming Dietrich School students. You'll make fast friends in small classes, and explore the campus and city. Academic Commuities allow you to take three classes—all focused on a subject that interests you—with the same small group of students. Discover more about first-year courses

Research

Dietrich School students can conduct meaningful research in their very first year. There are many ways to get involved: First Experiences in Research, the New York or London Field Studies, independent research through one of your courses, and more... Delve into first-year research.

Study Abroad and Service Learning
